Description
Amelia and her friends were once DnD-style fantasy adventurers, who found themselves launched into science fiction when they discovered their medieval world’s “gods” just have access to space-age biomech. Since ascending to godhood herself—that is, earning a place on the space station—Amelia’s life has been a non-stop campaign to bring rights and technology to mortals… behind the backs of the extremely powerful Council of the Gods.
But she’s not the only “goddess” with an agenda. One council member has hatched a mind-control plan in the form of a nanotech-carrying bacteria that’s slowly spreading through the pantheon—and one of Amelia’s dearest friends is infected. With only days of free will left, Amelia’s team files a legal case before the Council, but to gather evidence against a master of intrigue, they must travel to the realm of the dead.
And, if it wasn’t hard enough to find their way through gleaming portals, dripping caves, and chilly space station passageways stinking with neurotoxin, the so-called God of Tempests now stalks Amelia. He’s intent on kidnapping her to drain her powers for himself.
Amelia can handle combat, though, and the God of Tempests shouldn’t be a problem, even with all the other complications in her life. The problem is that when you’re trying to change the gods, life itself is a non-stop storm.
